Calling out all College First Year Abroad, High School Study Abroad, and Gap Year Abroad participants!
CIEE wants to collaborate with you to promote our semester or academic year-long programs and encourage other high school students to take the leap to go abroad. Through our Ambassador Abroad program, you’ll make a positive impact on your peers and community by sharing your journey through social media, photography, virtual events, and more.
In return, you will receive the following:
- Receive a $500 gift card after completion of the program
- Earn $200 referral bonuses for every student that you refer who travels on a CIEE program. You will have opportunities to share your referral code with prospective students during takeovers, events, etc. as part of the Ambassador program.
- Become a published writer when your blog is published on our website!

FAQ's
To become an ambassador, you must:
- Be enrolled in a CIEE College First Year Abroad, High School Study Abroad, or Gap Year Abroad program for the Fall or Academic Year of 2026. Please note, students who have not fully completed their application will still be considered but will need to meet the required deadlines in order to remain eligible.
- Have a strong presence on at least one social media platform (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) or experience with blogging, videography, or photography.
- Demonstrate creativity and storytelling skills.
- Have a passion for travel and international education.
Over the course of 12-weeks, ambassadors will complete projects to share their program experience and inspire others to study abroad with CIEE.
- Create 10 social posts (photos and videos) on Instagram or TikTok tagging your school and friends. Topic suggestions from CIEE team will be provided.
- Share your referral sign-up with at least 15 friends while abroad by sending your unique link.
- Generate 1 successful referral (a started application through your referral link).
- Write and share 1 content blog post.
- Add 25 high-quality photos of yourself and friends.
- 2-3 minute Day in the Life of Q&A YouTube Video about your experience abroad.
- Schedule a meeting with your U.S. school to present on your experience.
Students interested in the Ambassador Abroad program will submit an application that includes:
- A brief biography highlighting their experience and passion for travel/international education.
- Links to their social media profiles and/or a portfolio of their creative work (photography, blog posts, videography, etc.).
- A short proposal outlining their content ideas for their long-term study abroad program, including their preferred platforms and planned content.
A selection committee comprised of members of the CIEE marketing team will review applications and select ambassadors based on the criteria mentioned above.
The deadline to apply for the Ambassadors Abroad program is August 15th, 2026.
Selected ambassadors will be notified on a rolling basis.
