Business, Design & Social Media Internship - The Fashion Class

Company overview

The Fashion Class is an education and entertainment studio offering classes in the areas of sewing and fashion design, camps, and parties for children and teens ages 4-17. With two locations in Bryant Park and on the Upper East Side, we spread the love of creativity throughout NYC. This spring (2020) we're celebrating our ten year anniversary!

Internship overview

Intern will work directly with the founder on content creation and contribute to all areas of The Fashion Class’s operations. Main areas of focus are business management, design, and social media – internship responsibilities will be spread across all three but intern will be welcome to focus most on their main area of expertise/interest. Potential tasks include:

• Assist studio manager & business owner with program management tasks
• Purchase fabric and supplies locally in the Garment District
• Design content for Pinterest, Instagram and additional social media channels
• Create social media strategy and scheduling
• Blogging

Suggested qualifications

• Passion for small business (maybe you hope to own your own someday?)
• Desire to learn the full spectrum of business operations and management
• Interest in design and social media
• Good communication skills and understanding of professional social media use
• Creativity – graphic design experience helpful but not required
