3rd Strike Radio is a nonprofit, publicly-funded online radio station. As a subsidiary of the sustainability-focused nonprofit Build a Better Planet, 3rd Strike uses media to bring educational and informative programming to listeners around the world. They produce talk shows dealing with sustainability/green issues, and four music shows featuring independent, progressive artists who work for social good in their own communities.
Internship overview
3rd Strike radio is seeking a production intern to assist on their jazz shows, 3rd Strike The Jazz Lounge and 3rd Strike Jazz & Funk. Intern will be taught to use Audacity software and mentored in the process of audio/sound production and radio show planning, eventually being able to produce their own show. Option to include some PR/social media/marketing work as well if of interest to the intern.
Suggested qualifications
- Must have own laptop for use during internship (either Mac or PC is fine)
- Self-starter and ability to work autonomously when trained
- Interest in radio, audio production or engineering, DJ tech
- Interest in and knowledge of jazz helps, but you can also learn on the job!
- Suggested majors: theater, performing arts, communications
